Resolution #1
Whereas Industry and the Alberta’s Mature Asset Strategy advocate for lower reclamation standards,
Be it resolved that ASRA lobby the Alberta government to insist current reclamation standards be maintained and that private lease requirements be upheld.
Resolution #2
Whereas the Alberta government is reconstituting the Surface Rights Board,
Be it resolved that ASRA lobby the Alberta government to increase Board member’s pay levels to attract qualified individuals who understand and have experience within the agricultural industry.
Resolution #3
Whereas landowners are disadvantaged by the current system of AER licensing and the LPRT’S handling of surface leases and the Alberta government wants to double oil/gas production in Alberta,
Be it resolved that ASRA support its individual members in requiring Industry to take the non-routine process to obtain licenses at the AER and supporting landowners in refusing access and necessitating Right of Entry orders at the LPRT.
Resolution #4
Whereas Industry is reluctant to share information with landowners regarding activities occurring on their own lands,
Be it resolved that the AER require Industry to provide timely information to landowners, if they request it, regarding the production and reclamation studies occurring on those lands.
Resolution #5
Whereas the AUC has changed its rules so that only lawyers can be paid to represent landowner groups before it,
Be it resolved that ASRA lobby the government so that layman and other agents are allowed to be paid to represent other landowners at AUC hearings.
